They Don't Call it "Grandma Time" for Nothing

The Mr.'s Mama was in town visiting for a few days.  You can say what you want about your Mother-in-law, but there are two words that come to my mind when I think about Grandma: THANK GOD.

Don't get me wrong... I LOVE rushing home every day after work to feed the Chitlin dinner, give her a bath, and put her to bed... but sometimes it's nice to have those things crossed off your "To Do as Soon as I get Home so I can get Started on Dinner Before Cleaning it up and Squeezing in a Load of Laundry Before I Pass Out"  list.  Then again...how could anyone resist feeding this little face?

Also, you just can't put a price on a little alone time.  Since Grandma was staying the night, the Mr. and I got to celebrate a friend's wedding out of town with no guilt or worry.  We trust Grandma's got it and the Chitlin will be happy. PRICELESS

Plus! Grandma not only spoils the Chitlin with treats... she also left a little something for the adults.

THANK GOD... and Grandmas

  1. I agree with you. I love that my mother in law is there for us to watch the kids when we have weddings or other events that we have to go to and don't really want to bring the kids.

  2. Mother in laws can sure be life savers! I wish both Grandmas lived closer so we could take more advantage. Hee hee :)

  3. Hooray for grandmas! My mother in law is also extremely helpful, and any visit is a welcome one. How great that you got to sneak away for a night too! I'm sure she was happy to get a little bonding time with the little one.

  5. Love it! I try to help a dear friend of mine out every now and again and babysit for he and his wife. They think they're getting the gift of having a night off, whereas I firmly believe it's me who gets the treat of spending time with their gorgeous girls.

  6. Your family is SO cute! My husband and I really need to get some time together. We love being with our girl, but after almost 16 months and only having 1 date, I think we're a bit overdue. I'm glad you got to have a good time!

By the way, we are now your newest followers. = )
